History

The Rental Truck Group was formed in June 1998 when Budget Group Incorporated bought Ryder TRS, Inc., and they joined together to form the Budget Truck Group. Then in 2002 Ryder TRS integrated with Budget Truck Rental, officially. All TRS Ryder signs are then replaced with new signs promoting the Budget, and the yellow Ryder truck is replaced with a new blue truck to reflect the colors of the Budget.

In the US elections held in 2000, Budget Truck Rental was used to send ballots from Palm Beach, Florida to Tallahassee, Florida. This is the determination for selection. The Truck Budget then decided to sell the used truck, donating US $ 67,100 to the American Red Cross through its sale. [5]

On November 22, 2002, Budget sold its trucking and car business to Cherokee Acquisition Corporation, owned by Cendant Corporation. [6]

Jerald Riordan was announced president of Budget Truck Rental in March, 2003.

In September 2006 the Budget Car Rental, Avis Rental Car and Truck Rent Budget separated by Cendant as a separate company, Avis Budget Group. In 2007, the headquarters was moved to Morris County, New Jersey.
