History
LOVESPACE was founded in 2011 by Brett Akker and Carl August Ameln. Brett Akker had previously founded the Streetcar car company. Carl August Ameln is the founder of City Self-Storage, a multi-national department store. Ameln was previously an investor on Streetcar.
In 2013, LOVESPACE hired Steve Folwell as managing director. He was previously the business development director and group strategy director at Guardian Media Group. With a focus on students, home and space props and small businesses, the company rebranding and relaunched later that year. In 2015, LOVESPACE moves to a new warehouse to accommodate growth.

Investment
Smedvig Capital and First Risk Capital are early investors. Both companies have had experience in the storage industry. As a result, along with Ameln, Lasse Hoydal and Arnaud Ripert, CEO of Smedvig John Hewett joined the LOVESPACE Board of Directors. The 2014 fund raising campaign on CrowdCube crowdfunding platform raised Ã, £ 1.55 million, surpassing the target of £ 600,000 to surplus funds of 167%.
In 2015, the company raised Ã, Â £ 1.1m in a round led by the commercial property provider Workspace Group that brings total funds up to Ã, Â £ 4 million.
