Amateur and professional pole dance competitions are held in countries around the world.
Pole dance requires muscular endurance and significant coordination and sensuality, in exotic dances. Today, pole performances by exotic dancers range from basic rounds and striptease in more intimate clubs, to athletic movements such as climbing and body inversion at "heavy club" clubs in Las Vegas and Miami. Remy Redd Dancers at the King of Diamonds are notorious for turning themselves upside down into split and hanging from the ceiling. Pole dance requires significant strength and flexibility. The upper body and core strength are required to achieve proficiency, proper instruction, and rigorous training is required. Since the mid-2000s, promoters of pole dance fitness competitions have tried to change people's perceptions of pole dance to include fitness poles as a non-sexual form of dance and acrobatics, and try to move the pole to the Olympics as a sports pole.

History
The use of poles for sport and sport has been traced back at least eight hundred years to the traditional Indian mallakhamb sport, which utilizes the tenacity and strength principle of using wooden poles, wider in diameter than modern standard poles. The Chinese pole, originating from India, uses two poles in which humans will perform "opposing gravity deceptions" as they jump from pole to pole, about twenty feet in the air, more information can be seen in the old antiques mallakhamb documentary series, with yasho purush movie on YouTube.
Pole dance in America was rooted in a small show of "Little Egypt" in the 1890s, featuring a belly dance "Kouta Kouta" or "Hoochie Coochie", mostly performed by Ghawazi dancers who made their first appearance in America. In an era where women dress modestly with bodice, the dancers, wearing short skirts and rich jewelry, caused a stir. During the 1920s, dancers introduced poles by sensually pedaling on wooden tent poles to attract crowds. In the end the pole dance moved from tent to bar, and combined with rowdy dance. Since the 1980s, pole dance has incorporated athletic movements such as climbing, spinning, and inversion into striptease routines, first in Canada and later in the United States. In the 1990s, pole dance began to be taught as an art by Fawnia Mondey, a Canadian who moved to Las Vegas, USA. He created the first pole training videos used in fitness exercises. Since then, the class of pole dance has become a popular form of recreational and competitive sports, practiced and performed in a variety of sexual, non-sexual, and athletic settings.
K.T. Coates, a famous competitive pole dancer, and the International Polar Sports Federation, is currently promoting a campaign to include competitive pole dance at the Olympics and an application made to the International Olympic Committee to recognize the pole as a sport in September 2016. Many competitions exist, including the Pole Championships World, US Pole Federation Championships, Polar Art, Miss Pole Dance America, and Pole International Cup Masters Championships.

Pole
Standard pole
The standard dance pole usually consists of hollow chrome, steel, or brass pole with a circular cross section, running from floor to ceiling. Sticking to the ceiling provides more stability, but is not always realized, especially in nightclubs with higher ceilings or on removable devices. In the United States, the diameter is usually 50mm (2 inches), or now more popular 45mm (1.75 inches), allowing it to be gripped comfortably with one hand. In Asia, the diameter is usually 45mm or less.
There are different types of dance poles to suit different performance situations. Dance poles can be permanent or portable, of different sizes, have spinning and/or static mode and they have different coatings or made of different materials.
Dance poles are permanently mounted on the ceiling supported by beams located on the roof and they are positioned to the floor by different brackets and bearings. The way the poles are pegged to the ceiling and the floor varies according to which brand of pole is purchased. The portable poles are attached to a portable base or stage and do not need to be mounted to the ceiling. These poles can be easily moved, dismantled and transported into several cases to different locations.
The poles come in different diameters - 50mm, 45mm and 40mm. The diameter usually depends on the personal preference and what poles to use for eg. competition or use of the studio.
The dance poles have two different modes, rotating and static. Spinning mode is when the poles use ball bearings to spin. This mode can be used to complete more experienced polar movements, make movement easier to complete and to add more dramatic effects to move. Most rotating poles can be fixed to static as well. Static mode is when the poles can not rotate and are in a fixed position. Static mode is regularly used when pole dancing is first taught because beginners have little trust.
Poles come in a variety of materials and coatings in which each material has its own properties, advantages and disadvantages. The pole material is made of brass, titanium - gold, stainless steel and chrome. The poles of brass and titanium - gold are golden and used to increase the grip between pole and dancer, these poles are usually used by more advanced dancers. Stainless steel poles are not as popular as other types because they do not have the best grip yet, they are used by dancers who have sensitive skin. The silver chrome pillar is the most popular and popular among beginners. Done some of the dance poles may have silicone arms and powder coatings. Silicone arm can provide maximum grip, but there are safety precautions to be taken and considered before using the silicone arm. These steps can include a large number of clothing worn by dancers and only static moves that can be done. Powder coated poles can provide the best friction and maximum grip for the dancer.
Products like chalk, "Dry Hands" or "iTac" can be used to help "stick" to the pole. Competition can restrict which product players to use.
Show pole
Now there are poles available for use in clubs that provide visual effects. These poles are made with clear plastic and contain water, glitter, and special reflective materials that stand out when used in conjunction with strobe strobe lights, as well as the lighting hidden in their base beams. However, these poles are not favorable for dancers who want to achieve better polar tricks, as they bend slightly and have a tendency to create frictional roots when sliding down at any speed.
As an exercise
Pole dancing has gained popularity as a form of exercise with increased awareness of the benefits for strength and general fitness. These forms of exercise enhance the core and body strength in general by using the body itself as resistance, while tightening the body as a whole. The typical dance pole dance dance in the class begins with strength training, dance-based movements, squats, push-ups, and sit-ups and gradually works by spinning, climbing and inversion that are part of the exercise. Pole dancing is also commonly reported by schools to empower women in terms of building confidence, in which the erotic component is still the subject of controversy. Some feminists argue that such a sexual dance can not be seen as empowerment because the choice to participate is not made in the freedom of the inhibiting power structure, especially given the performative aspects of many classes.
More and more men are combining pole dance into their fitness program. In Australia, Britain and the United States, dance studios are starting to offer classes only for men. And in China, the National Heroes Dancing Competition 2007 was won by a man. The dance instructor Zhang Peng, 23, defeated a number of female dancers with a grand prize.
Recreational pillar for men and women â ⬠<â â¬
Since 2003, pole dance has transitioned from an exotic appearance into a recreational activity. Pole dancing as a sport is different from pole dancing as a recreation like pole dancing that is done primarily for fun rather than fitness. Pole dancing recreation can be seen as empowering women because it can make women feel positive about themselves. This is because pole dance builds confidence, strength and is a way to express oneself. When pole dancing is done for pleasure, a special exotic performance idea for titillation is enhanced. While pole class women will learn different ways to use the pole to execute spin, tricks, climbing and hanging. Check all studio credentials before committing to the pole dance studio. It is common knowledge that when the trick and lap difficulties increase, so does the level.
