Zinstall Easy Transfer is a PC migration software, which allows to transfer user files, settings, profiles and customizations from one computer to another. Unlike other Zinstall transfer products, Easy Transfer does not transfer the program itself - just the settings and their user files. This product is referred to as an alternative to the Windows Easy Transfer Wizard, a feature that has been removed from the default Microsoft Windows 10 option.

Operation
Zinstall Easy Transfer moves the user's workspace from one computer to another. Transfer is done through some form of network connection - router, network, direct cable or wireless connection. To initiate the initial transfer, the user must run the software on the old and new computers, which then automatically find each other on the network. This transfer then starts on a new computer. The old computer was not changed and nothing was removed from it.
Zinstall Easy Transfer allows selective transfers - the user can select the files and folders, program settings and user profiles that are transferred or not. On the other hand, novice users can run transfers with default settings, transferring the entire user's workspace as is.
Easy Transfer supports Windows XP and higher, both on source and on target transfers, but mostly mentioned for its support of Windows 10, which no longer includes Microsoft Easy Transfer as a built-in feature. Transfers from 32-bit to 64-bit systems are also supported.

Comparison with Windows Easy Transfer
Zinstall Easy Transfer is intended to provide an alternative to Windows Easy Transfer in Windows 10. Therefore, it allows to transfer user profiles and files, similar to what Windows Easy Transfer does. In fact, the Zinstall version makes it possible to transfer all files, as well as third-party software settings, which do not include Windows Easy Transfer. The missing capability is backwards compatibility to an existing Windows Easy Transfer (.migwiz) file, which can not be used by Zinstall.
