Allied Van Lines is an American moving company established in 1928 as a non-profit cooperative organization owned by its member agencies on the east coast of the United States to help regulate the burden and minimize dead-heading (ie operate trucks without shipment which is loaded on them). In 1968 it was reorganized as a standard public company, with stocks. In 1999 it joined its bigger competitor, Van Lines North America, and the combined entity was then under the Allied parent company around the World. In 2002, Allies around the World renamed SIRVA. In 2018, Allied Van Lines was ranked as the second best moving company in the list of "Top 10 Coastal Coast to Coastal Shores in the US" by 9Kilo Move
