Sinopsis seri
The main production of the event pilot takes place in the Hamptons. However, other locations throughout Long Island were used, with Oheka Castle being the most prominent. Though actually located 60 miles west, in Huntington, Oheka serves as the home of Hamptons Boris, a German nobleman who offers guest houses for Hank and Evan. In the next episode, exterior photos and aerial photographs from Oheka are used to introduce the scene at the guest house.
In one episode, the Long Beach grocery store, Dairy Barn, was used as a fictional hot dog diner; a sign can be seen at the opening of the scene. Also, some scenes were shot at the side of the bay from Point Lookout. Other places used as a fictional location of the Hamptons include Northport Village in Huntington City, Old Westbury Gardens, Freeport's Nautical Mile, which serves as the exterior and parking lot of Hampton Heritage Hospital (in one scene, Freeport's charter coat can be seen across the bay)) Caumsett State Historic Park and Oyster Bay Town Hall, converted into the entrance of the emergency room of Hamptons Heritage Hospital. The Catalina Beach Club in Atlantic Beach, New York converted for pilot episodes into the fictitious Hampt Inn, the Hank and Evan hotels staying on top of their arrival at the Hamptons. Downtown Locust Valley, where other rich people live on Long Island's Gold Coast, plays in downtown East Hampton in at least one episode (where Evan and Paige go shopping), with interior pictures in the store and street scenes. Other shooting areas include Roslyn, New York and Manhasset, New York, where North Hempstead, New York Town Hall is used as a police station.
For some beach scenes, West Neck (Huntington) Beach is used and food shopping places are filmed at Southdown Market in Huntington. Huntington Hospital is now used for the Hamptons Heritage Hospital.
Two episodes of the second season took place in Cuba, but were filmed in Puerto Rico.

Legal issues
On July 6, 2010, actor Hayden Christensen and his sister Tove filed a lawsuit against the USA Network at Manhattan Federal Court. In the lawsuit, the brothers claimed to have installed the USA Network idea for a new television series, called Housecall , which involved a concierge doctor who made home calls to the rich and famous. The brothers also claimed that a USA Network executive told them, "before learning about Housecall, he does not know your concierge and he thinks it's an interesting idea." A USA Network spokeswoman declined to comment on the lawsuit. On May 10, 2011, a Manhattan judge ruled insufficient evidence available to justify a claim of breach of contract because the claim was "material that could not be copyrighted, such as an idea." The decision was canceled on appeal in June 2012, the court stated that Christensens' claims are not infringed by copyright law. The opinion states, "There are some qualitative differences between such contract claims and claims of copyright infringement," and added that the sister licensing circuit has recently come to the same conclusion. The case was resolved in May 2013, with no details published.
