Texas Tornados is the band Tejano. The music is a fusion of conjunto (Mexican fusion music and Mexican Norteno from Texas) with rock and, country, and various Mexican styles.

The early combinations of Flaco JimÃÆ'Â nez, Augie Meyers, and Doug Sahm were performed in front of San Francisco goers, they all knew the original bond they felt in their music might be brought to another level. After they appeared as Tex-Mex Revue, they took the title Texas Tornados, after the Sahm song "Texas Tornado", from an album of the same name.
Another report from the birth of the group said that they were formed when record company executives who were looking for cash for regional music sales approached Sahm and Meyers around 1990, and they brought in old friends and collaborators Fender and Jimà © nez. Sahm has released an album with the name Texas Tornados in the early 1970s, some featuring Fender or Meyers. JimÃÆ' © nez and Meyers played in Sahm's Atlantic Records debut in 1971. As Fender once said, "You've heard of New Kids on the Block? We're Parents on the Road."

Doug Sahm and Augie Meyers were members of the 1960s pop-rock band Sir Douglas Quintet, with hits such as "She's About a Mover" and "Mendocino" for their award. Meyers's signature sound in Vox's organ is a prominent feature of the band's sound. Sahm, Meyers, and JimÃÆ'Â © nez are from the San Antonio area.
The band's 1990 debut was recorded in both English and Spanish versions. Texas Tornado was asked to perform worldwide, such as in the inauguration of president Bill Clinton and Montreux Jazz Festival, and made regular appearances on Farm Aid and Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show. They won a Grammy award in 1990 for Best Mexican/American Performance. Their 1996 single "A Little Bit Is Better Than Nada" accompanied the opening credits of the Tin Cup golf movie, which was released in the same year, and included in the official soundtrack.
Among their other albums are Live From the Limo , the last album recorded with the original lineup, when Sahm died in 1999, the year it was released. Fender, who had health problems in later years, died in 2006. Their 2005 live album Austin is their 1990 footage on the Austin City Limits TV series.
People sometimes refer to their lyrics as Spanglish due to a mixture of English and Spanish in the same song, in addition to reciting Spanish lyrics with an American accent, which is evident in their hit, "(Hey Baby) Que Paso". An example is the lyrics " Do not you know I love you/and I corazÃÆ'³n is real? ", where the word corazÃÆ'³n (Spanish for "heart") is not spelled correctly , with a clear American accent, not [ko? a'son] . 2010 - EstÃÆ'¡ Bueno!
Augie Meyers and Flaco JimÃÆ' Â © nez reunited with Doug Sahm's son Shawn Sahm in a new recording that included five previously unreleased vocal performances from the legendary Freddy Fender. The collection, titled "EstÃÆ'¡ Bueno," includes new songs written by Fender, such as the ballad of pop ballads "If I Could Only"; the new classic Tornado style written by Doug and Shawn Sahm, "Who Blames, SeÃÆ' Â ± orita?"; and several songs Augie Meyers recorded for the first time by Tornado, such as "Velma from Selma" and "My Sugar Blue." The album was produced by Shawn Sahm and released nationally by Ray Benson Bismeaux Records on March 2, 2010.
Playing together again for the first time since the 90s and feeling what Shawn called "Tornado vibrations," the group asked Shawn to take over and "drive the bus" for their first album in over a decade. The goal for the record is "to keep the record of rock-and-roll erect Tex-Mex." When Shawn first started recording, Shawn was delighted but was not surprised to hear they "sounded like they were playing at the top of their game." He stated, "When you hear this recording, you hear why they are their legend."
Shawn Sahm has been in the music industry since she was 13 years old and is the perfect person to trust in maintaining the Tornado heritage. He perfected each song according to group feedback, giving every detail a serious concern. During the process, he insists on all of them, "It's not done until you're happy." For the release of the album, Bensonaux Records Benson, in Austin, is a clear choice. Shawn Sahm commented, "Everyone knows they have great records and they feel it's important to go with someone who understands the legacy of Texas Tornadoes I know Ray is the right person They've been old friends, if anyone understands the band's legacy, it's Ray."
